What the €1 reservation deposit is, your right to withdraw from it, how refunds work, and the disclaimer that comes with a DIY, non-certified piece of hardware.
1. What the €1 covers
The €1 payment is a reservation deposit, not the purchase price of a finished unit. It reserves you a place in the build/shipping queue and is deducted from the final price when a ready-made arply ships. Paying it does not commit you to buying the finished unit — you can withdraw as described below, and if arply never ships, the deposit is refunded in full.
2. Right of withdrawal
Because this is a distance contract with a consumer, German and EU law give you a 14-day right of withdrawal from the deposit. The statutory notice below is the legally prescribed wording (Muster-Widerrufsbelehrung); the English version is a translation for convenience.

Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day the contract was concluded (i.e. the day you pay the deposit).
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us — Till Scheffler, Martin-Luther-Platz 11, 01099 Dresden, Germany, info@arply.de — of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notice of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay, and at the latest within 14 days from the day we receive notice of your withdrawal. We will use the same means of payment you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise; in no event will you be charged any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

Widerrufsrecht
Sie haben das Recht, binnen vierzehn Tagen ohne Angabe von Gründen diesen Vertrag zu widerrufen.
Die Widerrufsfrist beträgt vierzehn Tage ab dem Tag des Vertragsschlusses.
Um Ihr Widerrufsrecht auszuüben, müssen Sie uns (Till Scheffler, Martin-Luther-Platz 11, 01099 Dresden, info@arply.de) mittels einer eindeutigen Erklärung (z. B. ein mit der Post versandter Brief oder E-Mail) über Ihren Entschluss, diesen Vertrag zu widerrufen, informieren. Sie können dafür das beigefügte Muster-Widerrufsformular verwenden, das jedoch nicht vorgeschrieben ist.
Zur Wahrung der Widerrufsfrist reicht es aus, dass Sie die Mitteilung über die Ausübung des Widerrufsrechts vor Ablauf der Widerrufsfrist absenden.
Folgen des Widerrufs
Wenn Sie diesen Vertrag widerrufen, haben wir Ihnen alle Zahlungen, die wir von Ihnen erhalten haben, unverzüglich und spätestens binnen vierzehn Tagen ab dem Tag zurückzuzahlen, an dem die Mitteilung über Ihren Widerruf dieses Vertrags bei uns eingegangen ist. Für diese Rückzahlung verwenden wir dasselbe Zahlungsmittel, das Sie bei der ursprünglichen Transaktion eingesetzt haben, es sei denn, mit Ihnen wurde ausdrücklich etwas anderes vereinbart; in keinem Fall werden Ihnen wegen dieser Rückzahlung Entgelte berechnet.

4. Refunds outside the withdrawal window
- If arply development is discontinued or a reserved unit can't be delivered for any reason, deposits are refunded in full, no withdrawal request needed.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Ko‑fi. Processing time follows Ko‑fi's own payout timelines — expect roughly 7–10 business days, though this isn't guaranteed by us.

5. Product disclaimer — read this before you build or reserve one
arply hardware is not CE-marked and has not undergone formal electrical-safety or regulatory certification. It is an open-source DIY project, published and offered for makers, hobbyists, students, and researchers — for private, non-commercial use only.
By building, flashing, or operating arply hardware — whether self-printed or received as a preorder — you do so entirely at your own risk. We give no warranty regarding electrical safety, fitness for a particular purpose, or regulatory compliance in your jurisdiction. Follow standard electrical and fire-safety practice: use appropriately rated and fused power supplies, don't leave mains-connected builds unattended while testing, and don't use a damaged or improvised enclosure.
arply hardware is not intended for resale, commercial deployment, or use in any safety-critical, medical, or industrial context. If you plan to place units on the market for others — including selling them yourself — you are responsible for independently securing any certification (including CE marking) that requires.
